Standard HID Ballast Checking


  1. Operating lighting test
    1. When inputting the standard voltage--12.8V to light the bulb, it should not appear the glimmering; after 110 seconds it may glimmer slightly, after that, it could not appear again. If that, we may accept such slight shortcoming temporarily.
    2. The cool operating electronic current should not be over 8A when input 12.8V
    3. The warm operating electronic current should not over 8A when input 12.8V
  2. Momentarily protecting test of the high/low voltage
    1. The ballast can operate regularly when the voltage is set during 8-22V (The voltage error should be within +/-1V)
    2. The ballast stops working when the input voltage is low 8V or high 22V (The voltage error should be within +/-1V)
    3. The ballast recovers to work when the input voltage is back to up 8V or low 22V (The voltage error should be within +/-1V)
  3. Short-circuit protection tests
  4. The ballast should stop working to self-protect automatically when the two ends of the power source inputting connect contrarily so that the ballast would not be damaged the ballast
  5. Permanent power tests
    The output power can maintain 35W when the input voltage is between 8-22V (The deviation within +/-3W) so that the HID xenon bulbs would not be damaged
  6. Off-power source test once a second
    The ballast could not appear any malfunction when the ballast power is off or operated 100 thousands times continually; the malfunction could not appear in the producing test of off-power or operated
  7. The high and low temperature environment tests
    The ballast can work for a long time when the temperature is between -40 to 105 degree Celsius.
  8. The high speed operation performance tests
    When the input of the power voltage is 12.8V, the operated electric current is less than 6.5A in order the HID Xenon bulb operated within 1 second, the luminance reach the standard 20%, 80% in 4 seconds.
  9. Longtime lighting tests
    1. The ballast should reach the inputting power and do not appear any malfunction when the off power continually in 24 hours
    2. Should reach 12 hours a day continually, accounting 1000 hours not malfunction
